Amelia Frances Kolar

KOLAR - Amelia Frances, 88; Gahanna, OH, formerly of Johnstown, PA passed away January 13, 2020 at Sunrise of Gahanna Care Facility.  Born August 25, 1931 in Johnstown, PA, daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth (Yurik) Kaman.  Preceded in death by parents; and son, Robert J. Kolar.  Survived by husband, Joseph John Kolar of Gahanna, OH; brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Dorothy Kaman of Norton, OH; sister-in-law, Mildred Walters of Lancaster, PA; brother-in-law Robert J. Calik of Monroeville, PA; daughters and son-in-law’s, Lisa and Steve Kraus of Gahanna, OH; and Diane and Chuck Baum of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Evan and Margaret Kraus of Gahanna, OH; Dylan and Nathaniel Baum of Knoxville, TN; along with many nieces and nephews in the family.  Amelia was a member of the Slovak Union and the Resurrection Parish, where she loved to sing and listen to the music and choir.  As a former parishioner of St. Rochus Church, Amelia spent many hours at various church picnics and associated activities, and enjoyed making homemade gobs for the bake sales, and absolutely loved the St. Rochus Sweet Shoppe!  Amelia, along with her husband, Joseph, loved to attend the many yearly ethnic festivals, always listening to polka music, entertaining and visiting with their many friends she cherished so dearly, and dancing with her husband, especially on New Year’s Eve.  Funeral Mass will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2020, at The Resurrection Parish by the Rev. George M. Gulash. Committal will take place at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.  Friends received on Friday, January 17, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street.
