Anna V. (Varholak) Busony

BUSONY – Anna V., 99, of Johnstown, died November 7, 2019, at Windber Hospice. Born November 13, 1919, in Ramey, the daughter of Metro and Anna (Adamick) Varholak. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alexander Busony; granddaughter, Laura Busony; brothers: John, Andrew, Nicholas, Michael, George, Stephen, and Theodore Varholak; sisters Mary Peha; Helen Karcz; Susan Kanik; Theresa Petriska; and Katherine Pascarella. Anna is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by her sons: James, married to Susan (Terchanyn); and Joseph R., both of Johnstown. A member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church where she was a faithful and active member making Paska and pierogies. She was also a wonderful caretaker for her son, Joseph. Friends will be received Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street where Parastas will be sung at 8 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 606 Maple Avenue, Fr. James Davidson. Committal will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
