Anna Elizabeth Polacek

POLACEK - Anna Elizabeth, (Hegadus), 75; Daisytown, passed away peacefully at home, and entered God’s Kingdom on May 17, 2019.  Born July 15, 1943 in Johnstown, daughter of Lewis and Caroline (Laslo) Hegadus.  Preceded in death by parents; sister, Caroline wife of Donald Lohr; brother, Joseph P.  and wife, Patricia (Burkett) Hegadus; and brother-in-law, John Hudy.  Survived by loving husband, of 53 years, Joseph M. Polacek, Daisytown; and loving children; Stephen J. married to Laurie (Skelly) Polacek, of Johnstown; Eva Ann Murray and husband, Timothy, of Jenners, PA; Julie Ann Doell and companion, Harry “JR” Nash, of Manassas Park, VA; Jennifer Ann Stutzman and husband, Glenn M. of Johnstown; and son-in-law, Philip Doell IV.  Also survived by Anna’s beloved grandchildren, Victor and Nadine Lord, Chloe and Logan Doell, Glenn W. Stutzman; and step grandsons, Kenneth and Aaron Frazier.  A sister of Lewis Hegadus and wife, Barbara (Bajic) of Shanksville; Dorothy Hudy of Ohio; and Theodore and wife Linda (Pollock) of Windber; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Janice, Judy and Cookie; and pet bird “Tweety Bird”.  A graduate of Johnstown High School Class of 1961. Former employee for Bali Bra in Johnstown. A former 4-H Leader and Conemaugh Valley Band Booster. She enjoyed BINGO, Sudoku, Crossword and Jigsaw Puzzles; and canning fruits and vegetables from their garden.  She loved all music, especially her “oldies”; but most importantly loved her grandchildren and the joy they brought her.  A member of SS Gregory & Barnabas Parish, Daisytown, where Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Robert L. Ruston. Committal will take place at Grandview Cemetery.  Friends received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. Broad Street.
