MITRUS –Bernadine W., 91, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully at the Atrium Manor November 25, 2019, surrounded by her devoted niece Gloria and nephew Dom. Born May 29, 1928, in Johnstown the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Radsky) Majher. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter Mitrus; brothers: Steve, Michael, Thomas and Alex; and sisters: Victoria, Madeline, and Irene. She is survived by her sister, Patty; numerous loving nieces and nephews and the Sisters of St. Anne. Bernadine worked at the City of Johnstown as a meter maid and Ebensburg Center as a security officer before retiring. Our Aunt Bernie was a loving person whom family and friends were important to her. She will always be remembered for her delicious baking of nut and poppy seed rolls, kolachy, pagach and Christmas bread. Aunt Bernie always enjoyed playing pinochle and bingo too. A special thank you to the staffs of the Atruim and Interim Hospice for their loving care and support during this difficult time. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Friday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street where vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Resurrection Parish, Fr. George Gulash officiating. Committal at Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum.
