Donald F. Jerasa

JERASA – Donald F., 85, of Benshoff Hill, died July 4, 2018, at Laurel View Village. Born October 30, 1933, in Johnstown the son of Joseph and Josephine (Lunar) Jerasa. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debra Jerasa; sisters: Emma Zimmerman; Mary Poliacek; Lynn Foxe; Josephine Malinak; Jennie Bevensee; and Justina Jerasa; brothers: Charles and John Jerasa. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Beverley (Shaffer) Jerasa; daughter, Sharon, wife of Larry Fredlund; Donald F. Jerasa, Jr.; and grandson Kevin Marioni, wife Ankhesenamun; and great-granddaughter, Aria. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Fritz and numerous nieces and nephews. Donald served in the 2nd Armored Division of the US Army in the Korean War. He retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corp. and began working for various landscapers, a job he loved. An avid hunter, Donald was a long-time member of the Benshoff Hill Rod & Gun Club. The family thanks the caring staff at Laurel View Village and Interim Hospice for their care and support. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street, Pastor Jeffrey Bassette officiating.
