Dorothy A. Kristofco

KRISTOFCO - Dorothy A., 88; Parma, OH, formerly of Johnstown, passed away September 7, 2018 in Parma, OH.  Born April 24, 1930 in Johnstown, daughter of Michael and Anna (Mlinarchik) Blaschak.  Preceded in death by parents; and husband, Joseph J. Kristofco.  Survived by loving daughter, Annett M. Kristofco; brother, George Blaschak, both of Johnstown; special “daughters”, Carol Devine and Joan Spurio; and spiritual family member, Fr. James Batcha.  Dorothy was loved by everyone who knew her, and many referred to her as mom.  She would sometimes comment; “Who are all these kids and why are they all calling me mom?”  She always had an open door to help, care, or provide comfort to anyone in need. She was a former employee for Goldstein and Levine and was an American Red Cross volunteer with 35 years of service with the Greater Cleveland and Pennsylvania Mountains Chapters.  She was also a special friend of the Cambria County Library making bookmarks for many years.  A member of Holy Spirt Byzantine Catholic Church in Parma, OH. Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Johnstown, PA; the Rev. Msgr. Raymond Balta. Committal will take place at Grandview Cemetery.  Dorothy’s daughter Annett would like to thank Seasons of Life Hospice in Parma; and University Hospital 8th Floor, doctors and nursing staff for their loving and compassionate care. There will be no services in Ohio; however, family and friends will be received received Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G.
