Elizabeth "Liz" L. (Karalfa) Woznak

WOZNAK (KARALFA) – Elizabeth L. “Liz”, 65, of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord February 5, 2018. She was born December 6, 1952, in Johnstown the daughter of Charles and Emma (Sterle) Karalfa, Sr. Preceded in death by her parents; infant son; and brother, Charles Karalfa, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Woznak; children: Robert Wingard and girlfriend, Mandy Rogers; Gary Woznak, Jr.; Tracy, wife of Carmelo Oquendo; and Eric Woznak; beloved grandchildren; brothers: William Karalfa, married to Connie Beltz; and Robert Karalfa, married to Barbara Pheil; and sister-in-law, Donna (Mansfield) Karalfa. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was a graduate of Slippery Rock University where she was on the Dean’s List. She was a substitute teacher at various schools including West End Catholic, OMOS and in the Greater Johnstown district. She retired from the Johnstown Post Office with over 25 years service, where she met her husband Gary. Gary and Liz would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary February 13th. Liz will be remembered as a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her. A member of St. Therese Catholic Church where funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Fr. Bernard Karmanocky, OFM. Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the FRANCIS G.
