Helen (Buksa) Mateljan

MATELJAN – Helen, 91, of Johnstown, died July 17, 2019, at her home. Born October 29, 1927, in Johnstown the daughter of Frank and Mary Buksa. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph G. Mateljan, Sr.; sons, Raymond, Ronald J. and Richard A. Mateljan; brothers, John and Frank Buksa; and sister, Mary Buksa. She is survived by her children: Joseph, Jr., her caretaker, Johnstown, Duane D., married to Darlene (Fisher), Johnstown; Michael, Johnstown; Sharon, wife of Bernard Vance, New Hope, PA; and Michele, wife of Michael Vore, Johnstown; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Stephen and Joseph Buksa. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was a member of Resurrection Parish and was retired from Bestform Foundations. She lovingly instilled integrity, honesty and religion in her children. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street. Funeral Mass will take place 1 p.m. Friday at Resurrection Parish, Fr. George Gulash. Committal service at St. Rochus Cemetery.  The family would like to thank the staff of Senior Life who helped and cared for Helen over the years.
