LAYTON – Henry E., Jr., 90, of Johnstown, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ May 13, 2018. Born November 8, 1927, in Maple Ridge the son of Henry and Ella (Dimond) Layton. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Homer, Clarence; Ralph; Charles; Irvin; and Richard; and sisters: Violet Rice; Genevieve Layton; and Elnora Naugle. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Vivian (Rummel) Layton; children: Deborah, wife of Michael Hershberger, Cold Spring, KY; JoEtta, wife of James Knipple, Salix; Douglas, married to Amy Kissinger, Johnstown; and Timothy, married to Susan Zack, Windber; grandchildren: Nichole (Brad) Fisher; Michelle (Kyle) Lipps; James (Janel) Knipple; Eric (Rebecca) Layton; Patrick (fiancée, Amy) Knipple; Stephanie and Jenna Bracken; Jeremy Layton; Aaron and Zachary Knopsnyder; and Kristin Woodard; great-grandchildren: Carson, Kaylin, Carter, Connor and Kassidy Fisher; Audrey and Henry Lipps; and Emmalee, Andrew, Libby and Anna Layton. Henry was a member of the Beulah United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Challenger’s Bible Class and United Methodist Men; a US Airforce Veteran of WWII; and was retired from the Gautier Division of Bethlehem Steel Corp. Henry’s warm smile, humble nature, and unique sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Spending time with him left you feeling better and with a smile on your face. Henry had a deep love and respect for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his later years he enjoyed reading and spending time with his family. While Henry has left us on this earth, his memory and love will live on in our hearts and we look forward to seeing him again in Heaven. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Beulah United Methodist Church, Pastor David R. Stains officiating.
