Joan D (Kasterko) Bassi

BASSI – Joan D., 87, of Johnstown died December 22, 2018, at LaurelWood Care Center. Born September 26, 1931, in Johnstown the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Kohan) Kasterko. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, William J. Bassi; daughter, Diane M. Murphy; brother, Walter F. Kasterko; and sisters: Rose Ann (Donald) Reese: and Yvonne (Richard) Slippy.  She is survived by her sisters: Margaret (Tony) Mirilovich; and Barbara (William) Rushin; son-in-law, Bill Murphy; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Joan was a regular and enjoyed polka dancing at the Cambria City Polka Fest. The family would like to thank Joan’s Cambria City friends for their concern and staff at LaurelWood Care Center for all their care. She was a member of Resurrection Roman Catholic Parish where family and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass 10 a.m.  Saturday, January 5, 2019,  Fr. George Gulash officiating.
