Margaret L. Mley

MLEY - Margaret L., 92, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones. Born December 13, 1926 in Johnstown, PA, the daughter of Stephen M. and Mary K. (Kachmar) Korchnak. Preceded in death by her parents; husband Andrew Mley ; brother Stephen J. Korchnak and sister Helen Kubej. Survived by her daughters, Susan Thomas, married to John, and Michele (McClelland) Facciani, married to Leonard Jr.; and loving grandchildren, Abigail Thomas, Elise Markum, married to Corey, and Stephen McClelland. Also survived by sister Irene Maguth and sisters-in-law Betty Slivosky and Bernie Mley and nieces and nephews. Margaret was born and raised in Cambria City. She was a graduate of the former Johnstown Catholic High School Class of 1944. She was employed by David Dibert Mines as a bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church and the Greek Catholic Union.  Margaret was a woman of great faith and used her God-given talents to sew for the priests and sisters of the parish. She was an excellent cook and baker and loved taking care of her family.  Margaret loved playing bingo, scratching off lottery tickets and bus trips to Atlantic City. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  The family wishes to thank Dr. Thomas Ellenberger, Richland Woods Assisted Living, Windber Hospice and Good Sam 4 at Memorial Medical Center for the good and loving care that they gave to our mother.  Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc. 710 Broad Street; where a brief service will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday. followed by Funeral Mass at 10 am Friday at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, the Rev. Msgr. Raymond Balta.  Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery.  Parastas will be held 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Margaret would be happy to have offerings made in her name to the Sisters of Mount Saint Macrina, 500 West Main Street, Uniontown, PA 15401 or to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Avenue, Windber PA 15963.
