SKOVENSKY - Martha C., 94; Stonycreek Township, passed away January 23, 2019 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born in 1925, daughter of Charles R. Sr. and Catherine M. (Palm) Boxler. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John J. Skovensky Jr.; brothers, Charles R. Jr., James, Thomas Boxler; sister, Clara Pudliner; nephew, Tommy Boxler; great-nieces, MaDee Boxler, Christine and Amy Pudliner. Survived by loving daughter, Theresa A. married to Patrick McGlynn Jr., whom Martha declared to be “the best son-in-law in the whole world”. Her pride and joy cherished granddaughter Lara of Pittsburgh; and her grand dog, Mia, who was her buddy. Also survived by brother, Richard Boxler; sisters, Mildred Boxler (her beloved twin); Ethel Cassidy, Mary Theresa Knipple, and Peggy Boxler, all of Johnstown; and Joann Davies of North Ridgeville, OH; and numerous in-law’s, nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Retired in 1994 as Head Cook of the former St. Benedict Catholic School. The family would like to thank the staff of Arbutus Park Manor, Doerr Wing, the staff and volunteers of Windber Hospice and Fr. Walter Moll for their compassionate and exceptional care. A member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Walter J. Moll. Committal St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends received Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street.
