Mary (Skakunik) Balamuta

BALAMUTA – Mary, 91, of Johnstown, died December 18, 2018 at LaureWood Care Center. Born February 19, 1927, in Johnstown the daughter of Vasil and Mary (Marilak) Skakunik. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Balamuta; brothers: Paul and Charles Skakunik; and niece, Mary Beth Christie. Mary was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was survived by sisters-in-law: Ethel (Korber) Balamuta and Louella (Feloso) Skakunik; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mary was a member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church. Friends will be received Friday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. when funeral service will be sung by the Very Rev. Fr. George Johnson.
