Mary E. Christie

CHRISTIE - Mary E., 56; Upper Yoder Twp., passed away on May 20, 2018 at Conemaugh Hospital.  Born August 22, 1961 in Johnstown, daughter of Paul and Louella M. (Feloso) Skakunik.  Preceded in death by father, Paul Skakunik; and daughter, Elizabeth Christie.  Survived by mother, Louella M. Skakunik, Johnstown; husband of 18 years, Richard L. Christie, Upper Yoder Twp.; loving children, Evan, Grace and Shannon Christie, all at home; and step-daughter Bethany Metz, Duncansville, PA.  Also survived by numerous loving family members, whose support and care was always there for her.  A Proud graduate of Greater Johnstown High School, Class of 1979.  She was a legal assistant for many years prior to becoming a Teacher’s Aide at Westmont Hilltop Elementary School.  Mary has connections all over our area. She is a dance mom at Concepts, and band mom at Westmont Elementary School. She was an active member of the school PTO for many years.  Mary has a Humongous heart. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and  loved animals, especially German Shepherds.  A member of St. Therese Catholic Church, where Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Bernard Karmonocky, OFM.  Friends received Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street.  In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to the family.
