LONCELLA – Mary (Hovanec), passed away at Windber Medical Center ER on December 18, 2019. Born in Johnstown, PA on March 16, 1926. Preceded in death by parents, Mary (Meholchin) and Andrew Hovanec; beloved husband of 57 years, Casimir; son, Theodore; sisters: Ann Cicon and Margaret Hovanec; and brothers: John, Joseph and Stephen Hovanec. Mary will be sadly missed by her surviving family: daughters, Peggy Trevenen (Harold); and Connie Lynam(A.J.); and son Jim Loncella (Lisa). Grandchildren: Kimberly Huenke (Jim); Rob Gomulka (Michelle); Adam Lynam; David Lynam (Rachel); Jonathan Lynam; and Robert Kintner (Alli). Great-grandchildren: Ellyn Gomulka; Haley Gomulka; and Bradley Kintner. Also survived by sisters: Helen Machowski and Martha Waskovich; and brother, Andrew Hovanec along with numerous nieces and nephews. Last surviving member of a great group of 3 couples and friends, Bob and Helen (Butch) Stem and Gene and Evelyn Biber. Enjoyed cruising with family, and playing pinochle, scrabble and farkle. Mary was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Geistown since 1962. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street where vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2019 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles officiating. Private committal will take place at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15963, in memory of Mary.
