Mary E. Varner

VARNER – Mary E., 71, of Johnstown, died April 9, 2019, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born March 1, 1948, in Johnstown the daughter of Michael, Sr. and Dorothy (Yoder) Alberter. Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Franklin Yoder, Sr.; and sister, Roberta Alberter. Survived by step-son, James Varner, Johnstown; step-grandson, Richard Varner; brother, Michael Alberter, Jr.; and sisters, Paulette (George V.) Nelson, Johnstown; Sally (George) Wos, Johnstown; and Helen (Robert) Varner, Harrisburg. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mary was a member of the Salvation Army where she was a Junior Soldier Teacher, member of the Home League; and a Sunday School Teacher. Friends will be received Saturday from 1-3 and 4 - 5:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 576 Vine Street, Johnstown, PA 15901 where funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Private interment will take place at Benshoff Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Salvation Army in memory of Mary. The family is being served by the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street.
