BARAN - Rose M., 97; Franklin Boro., passed away August 7, 2019 at Laurelwood Care Center. Born November 8, 1921 in Conemaugh, daughter of Nicholas and Catherine (Jurczyk) Moran. Preceded in death by parents; husbands, Andrew A. Puch and Peter Baran; son, Andrew B. Puch; sisters, Mary Shultz, Blanche Mider; brothers, John and Walter Moran in infancy, Blaine E. Moran, Edward Moran and Dr. Anthony Moran. Rose was the last survivor of her immediate family. She is survived by loving children, Sharon (Puch) Lydic, Johnstown; and Peter N. Baran (Jo Lynn), Tyrone, PA; Grandchildren, Andrew A. Puch, Paula (Lydic) Crook, Andrew Lydic, Anna, Emily and Cate Baran; and great grandchildren, Levi, Brock and Elyse. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and special nephew, Peter Mider. Graduate of Frankin High School Class of 1938. Former secretary for U.S. Marine Corp. She worked in the car shop during World War II, and worked for Penn Traffic Corp. Rose enjoyed traveling and organizing many trips with family and friends. She was a charter member of the Michael Strank V.F.W. Post 5107 and held title of president of the Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She was also past president for the V.F.W. Cambria County Counsel. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, at Resurrection Parish, the Rev. George M. Gulash. Committal will take place at Assumption BVM Cemetery.
