Theresa Marie (Rovan) Shustrick

SHUSTRICK – Theresa Marie “Terry”, 67, of Johnstown, died September 12, 2019, at Windber Hospice. Born April 14, 1952, in Johnstown, the daughter of John “Bill” and Josephine (Fatula) Rovan. Preceded in death by her parents. Terry was the loving wife of, James, Jr.; and loving mother of: daughter, Becky, wife of Adam Dando, New Castle; sons: Greg, married to Jaime (Rudge); and Zack, married to Jennifer (Karcher), both of Hollsopple; and grandmother of: Nick, Blaise, Dominic, Olivia, Liam and Emma Dando; Samuel Shustrick; and Pete Shustrick. She was the sister of: John “Jack” Rovan, Jr., married to Patricia (Sabo); Thomas Rovan, married to Lynette (Rollins); and Mary Ann, wife of Mark Eash. Terry was a 1970 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School where she was Valedictorian; 1973 graduate of UPJ with a Bachelor of Science in Education; and a 1976 graduate of IUP with a Master of Math Education.  She was a passionate and devoted math professor at UPJ for 44 years where she was awarded Edward A. Vizzini teacher of the year award. She was the co-author of “Developing Skills in Algebra: A Lecture Worktext”.  Terry was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. She loved international folk dancing and was a member of the Johnstown Folk Dancers for over 30 years. She was also an avid card player and enjoyed camping and spending time with her family. Family and friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street where vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Therese Catholic Church, Fr. Bernard Karmanocky, O.F.M.  Committal will be held at Grandview Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made the family in order to establish a scholarship fund at UPJ, in memory of Terry.
