Thomas F. (Fetsko) Hiravi

HIRAVI – Thomas F., 85, of Johnstown, died February 18, 2019, at Memorial Medical Center. Born August 21, 1933, in Johnstown the son of Thomas J. and Amelia (Missik) Hiravi. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Mollie Safko; Margaret; Betty Trosan; and brother, Fred. Thomas was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rose M. (Fetsko) Hiravi; son, Thomas A. Hiravi, married to Karla (Freeburg); and daughter, Karen, wife of Edward Lynn; grandchildren: Aaron E. Lynn and fiancée Elyssa Browning; Sarah M. (Lynn), wife of Kevin Schropp; Thomas J. Hiravi, married to Jordan (Willie); and Rebekah A. (Hiravi) wife of Matthew Stombaugh; and great-grandchildren: Tucker Schropp, Eleonora Lynn and yet to be born, baby Stombaugh. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Thomas worked at Bethlehem Steel in the 21 inch mill for 34 years; was a part-time police officer for Westmont Borough; volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul’s Thrift Shop for 30 years; enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, watching old westerns on TV, working crossword puzzles and vacationing in Myrtle Beach with his family. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street where vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Mother of Sorrow Catholic Church, the Very Rev. Mark Begley officiating. Committal will take place at Grandview Cemetery.
