Wanda S. (Danchanko) Waligora

WALIGORA - Wanda S., 92, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2019, surrounded by family and loved ones. Born April 22, 1926 in Johnstown, PA, the daughter of the late Wanda and Nicholas Danchanko. Wanda is preceded in death by husband Andrew C. Waligora Jr. Also preceded in death by beloved step-father, Michael Bilski; sisters, Mary, Lillian, and Helen; brothers, Alex, Nicholas, and William. Wanda is survived by children, Andrea (Waligora) Buczek; son-in-law, Theodore Buczek. Son, Andrew Waligora III; daughter-in-law, Kathleen (Burkett). Sister, Cecilia (Bilski) Holub. Grandson, Dr. Andrew Waligora IV, married to Angela (Condor). Granddaughter, Nicole Waligora. Great grandchildren Andrew V and Grace Waligora. Wanda was a former member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and later a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Wanda was dedicated to her faith, said the Rosary daily, and raised her family in the Catholic Church. Wanda was employed as a cook at the Hiram G. Andrews Center. She was a lifelong member of the Conemaugh PNA and a member of the Columbian Circle of the Knights of Columbus. Wanda took great pride in her family and enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. She was an excellent cook, baker, and gardener. She was extremely proud of her family and her Polish heritage. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc. 710 Broad Street. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis of Assisi, Franciscan Friars O.F.M. Conv.
