Andrew James Smith

SMITH - Andrew James, "Drew" 74; Johnstown, passed away on January 27, 2025 at home.  He was born June 13, 1950 to the late Veronica Louise (Belica) and Andrew Joseph Smith.  Drew was a 1968 graduate of Johnstown High School.  He was drafted into U.S. Army Service during the Vietnam conflict having served both stateside and Germany over the course of three years.  He achieved the rank of Specialist 4^th Class.  Upon completion of his Army service, he enrolled at Penn State University, New Kensington and received an associate degree in Drafting and Engineering.  He spent his entire career with L. Robert Kimball and Associates in Ebensburg, PA - a tenure that spanned 45 years.  An avid outdoorsman, Drew enjoyed target shooting, hunting, and fishing while traveling to numerous locations throughout the United States for his next adventure.  A proud and momentous achievement in his hunting adventures occurred in 2022 when he had the opportunity to chase a Pennsylvania Elk.  After two days of hunting, he bagged an estimated 757 pound 7x7 bull elk - a moment he was able to share with his son Andy who accompanied him on the hunt.  Drew is survived by his two sons:  Andrew G. (Erin) of Sunbury, PA and Terrence C. (Jessica) of Four Oaks, NC.  He leaves behind grandchildren Cameron, Harrison, Evan, and Danielle, brother Edward M. Smith (Joyce), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Ozog Funeral Home, 710 Broad Street, Johnstown, PA.  A celebration of life will be held at Asiago's on April 5th, please contact us at smitman1950007@gmail.com
