Anna Novosel

NOVOSEL - Anna M., 87; of Johnstown, passed away March 8, 2025, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by her loved ones.  Born July 1, 1937 in Johnstown; daughter of John N. and Catherine (Smith) Fabina.  Preceded in death by parents; beloved husband, of 56 years, Charles Novosel, who passed away in 2017; sisters, Mary and husband John Sikirica; Jennie and husband John Babich; Agnes and husband Donald Nemchek; and brothers, Frank and wife Anna Fabina; Thomas and wife Norma Fabina; and John G. and wife Bernadine Fabina.  She is survived by her loving children, Carol wife of Jim Carthew; Randy Novosel; and Lori wife of Steve Kobal; grandchildren, Tanner and Brock Kobal; and sister, Helen Polonia.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Ann was a 1955 graduate of Johnstown High School.  She worked at Retail Credit/Equifax and retired from Ameriserv Bank.  A life-long member of the former St. Rochus Catholic Church and current member of Resurrection Parish.  She was a member of the CFU Lodge #5.  She was an excellent baker and liked to crochet.  She enjoyed attending her grandsons’ sporting events, watching the Steelers, Chiefs and Fighting Irish; and vacationing at the beach.  Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family.  Friends received Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street.  Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at Resurrection Parish Church, the Rev. George M. Gulash.  Committal will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
