ORAVEC – Anthony A., 85, of Johnstown died March 11, 2020, at Windber Hospice. Born November 5, 1934, in Johnstown the son of the late Andrew G. and Gabriella (Kavacic) Oravec. Preceded in death by four sisters: Sue Hammer, Kathryn Krumenacker, Mary Gordian and Elizabeth Kuchenbrod and one brother, Very Rev. Father Christian R. Oravec, T.O.R. Survived by wife of nearly sixty years Marion Domenick. Also survived by son, Timothy, of Caldwell, Idaho married to Cynthia Keith of Johnstown, daughter Amy married to William Dunkleberger, Johnstown, grandson, Anthony A. Oravec, ll, and granddaughters Olivia A. married to Jonah Strenski, both of Caldwell, Idaho and Caroline A. Oravec , Johnstown. Anthony is survived by his sister, Theresa Rose Grandinetti; sisters-in-law Betty Bennett and Loretta Domenick and numerous nieces and nephews. Anthony worked forty plus years as a welder for Bethlehem Steel and later as an instructor at the Hiram G. Andrews center. Member of St. Claire of Assisi Catholic Church, formerly St. Anthony’s, in Woodvale for 5 decades. There was almost nothing Anthony couldn’t do from building a garage and furniture, cooking, baking, to making rag carpets. Anthony could do it all. He loved attending his grandchildren’s events, enjoying his daily cigars and taking care of his fur-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street where vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass to be held noon on Saturday at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church. Committal to be held at Grandview Cemetery.
