HARRINGTON (Mikula) – Antoinette “Toni”, 82, West End, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on December 13, 2024. Born May 6, 1942, in Johnstown. Daughter of Margaret (Mrugala) and John Mikula. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Barry Harrington; daughters Susan Yingling (Kenneth) and Kathy Moran (Lance); grandchildren Shannon Yingling, Kara Handley (Conor), Kelsi Tafaro (Andrew), Leah Yingling (Mike), Brady Moran (Lindsey), Connor Moran (Jenn), Ryan Moran (Cassie) and Brennen Moran; great-grandchildren Westin, River, Casey, Alina, and Rory; sister Cindy (Mikula) Houghton and husband Kevin; brother Fred Mikula and wife Janice (Kott); and numerous cherished nieces and nephews. A 1960 graduate of Johnstown High School, she worked for 33 years as a teacher’s aide for the Johnstown School District where she positively influenced generations of children. Toni was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and cherished her relationship with Jesus, placing Him at the center of all she did, including the loving caretaker role she took on during her later life for her husband. Our beloved Mom, Nana and Gigi took great pride in being an integral part of her children’s, grandchildren’s, and great-grandchildren’s lives, supporting them in their endeavors and never missing a birthday or holiday without a hand-written card and loving phone call. She found great joy in her time outdoors boating, fishing, and camping with her husband Barry, and she loved to read and bake. She was the life of the party— no bridal dance will be the same without her, the Pittsburgh Pirates will miss one of their most ardent fans and her family will forever try to imperfectly replicate her perfect mushroom soup, haluski, and Thanksgiving pies. We take comfort knowing she will be reunited with her mother, whom she loved dearly, and her shih-tzu, Molly, who always held a special place in her heart. The family would like to personally thank everyone who took part in caring for our matriarch until the end. A viewing will be held Monday, December 16th at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rev. Bernard Karmanocky O.F.M. Committal will follow at Grandview Cemetery. In memory of Toni and in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Therese Catholic Church.
