Barbara J. (Karan) Cassady

CASSADY – Barbara J., 79, of Johnstown, died July 16, 2021, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born October 25, 1941, in Cleveland, OH the daughter of Duzan and Katherine (Smolen) Karan. Preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John Bachovchin, Jr.; and sister, Maryann (Karan) Cucuro. Survived by her husband of 34 years, Ronald Cassady; sons, Jeff, married to Judy (Hartley) Bachovchin; and Matt Bachovchin; step-sons, Scott Cassady; and Mike, married to Dona Cassady; grandchildren: Maddy Bachovchin, Catherine Duffy Bachovchin, Clare Duffy Bachovchin, Brayden, Haley and Katlyn Cassady; and Chris and Sarah Fusco; and great-grandchildren: Luca, Max and Scarlett. Also survived by her brothers: Douglas and Nicholas Karan; sisters: Katherine (Cassie) (Karan) Margeson; and Patricia Ann Karan; and best friend, Judy Schmalz. Barbara was an avid hockey fan who loved rooting for the Penguins and spending time with her dog, Tink and cat, Shadow.  Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street, Rev. Rebecca West officiating. Committal will be held at Grandview Mausoleum.
