Barbara worked as a cook with the Greater Johnstown School District for many years until her retirement, but her love for cooking didn’t end there. She was often found watching cooking channels for the next great meal to try out on her family. Barbara loved watching and attending NASCAR races, and cheering on her favorite hockey teams, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals. Early in life, Barbara found joy in making ceramics, crafting macramé projects, spending time duckpin bowling, playing the accordion, and recording songs that she played on the accordion. Barbara was also an avid mall walker. Another hobby that Barbara enjoyed was photography; she found great joy in capturing the precious moments of her family. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will truly be missed by many. Friends will be received Monday, June 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Pastor Nancy Hoover. Committal will follow at Benshoff Hill Cemetery. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Barbara’s guardian angels, Geno and Paul, for their friendship, kindness, and support during her time in Maryland. They regularly checked in on her, spent time with her, took her shopping and on errands, and made sure she was always cared for. Barbara truly cherished their companionship and loved spending time with them. Their generosity and friendship brought her great comfort and joy, and the family will be forever grateful.
