WEBB- Calvin J., 94; Johnstown, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend went to be with the Lord on August 20, 2020. Born June 12, 1926. Survived by wife: Amelia "Mim" (Maystrovich), children: Calvin John Webb II (Debra Henninger), Johnstown; Joan Webb Scornaienchi (John Scornaienchi), Columbia, MD; and grandson, Clinton Joseph Webb (Morgan Dux), Carlisle, PA. Preceded in death by parents: Ralph and Arnetta (Siverling) Webb of Johnstown, and siblings: Ralph Webb (Dorothy), Arnetta Noonan (James), and Lillian Rose (Byron). Survived by sister-in-law Ann (Maystrovich) Cernogorsky, Miami, FL, nieces, nephews, and friends. As a boy, Cal's life evolved around sports and dreams of playing major league baseball. However, instead of being drafted by his favorite major league team, the eighteen year old was drafted into the U.S. Army. While on patrol in Luxembourg, he stepped on a landmine. In February, he celebrated 75 years as a bilateral amputee. He shared his passion for sports by coaching many Johnstown youth and adults in baseball, basketball, football and softball. As a proud WWII veteran, he was the Commander of the American Legion Post 294, Commander of the 80th Infantry Division, and Chef-de-Gare of 1370 The Forty and Eight. A private celebration of life was held with interment at Benshoff Hill Cemetery. Services arranged through Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street.
