Carol A Shaffer

SHAFFER - Carol A., 75; Johnstown, passed away January 8, 2021 at her home.  Born March 30, 1945 in Johnstown, daughter of Harry C. and Martha J. (Fraizer) Horner.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Norman H. Shaffer; brother, Ronald G. Horner; nephew, Ronald Horner Jr., and mother-in-law, Alice Boring.  Survived by loving children, Norman E. Shaffer and wife Idonna; Eric J. Shaffer and wife Catherine; and Kristi Hastie and husband Donnie; all of Johnstown.  Also survived by grandchildren, Curtis T. Shaffer and wife Nicolle; Eric J. Shaffer Jr; Charles R. Sidor III and wife McKenna; Corey A. Kurtz and girlfriend Afton; step-grandchildren, Alyse and Amber Hastie; step greatgrandchildren, and soon to be great grandson; and beloved pet “P”. Carol was a graduate of JHS Class of 1963 and attended beauty school.  A member of the Albright U.M. Church.  Carol loved her family, especially her grandchildren; she often stated her greatest accomplishments was being a wife, mother and grandmother.  Many knew her for her “Mama Shaffer Enchiladas”.  In her own words she shared, “ See you all in our next adventure! Be safe! I really love you all, Forever, Mom”  A Remembrance  Service will be planned at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to the American Heart Association in her memory.
