COBAUGH (Gates) - Carole Ann, “Cookie”, 75, died May 28, 2020 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born March 10, 1945 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Merle and Genevieve (Leech) Gates. Carole resided in Hanover, MD. After an extended stay at the hospital in Maryland, she came back to Johnstown on May 15, 2020 to spend the remainder of her life with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, who died within a month of each other in February and March of this year. Survived by lifelong best friend, Mary Pannone, who was more like a sister than anything else; and by her aunt, Catherine Leech and many special cousins. Carole is also survived by special friends in Maryland: Bill Burnham, Georgia Brewer, Dawn and Lovetta Cook, Shirley Grapp, Ray Hill, Lillian Koch, Lorraine Tripp, Pat, Darlene, Monica, Jean and Carlene Rosado. Carole also had a lot of good neighbors: Evelyn and Gregg, Margaret and Bob, Steve and Kim and Memory. Carole retired from the National Security Agency in Maryland. She loved dining out with friends, playing the slots, shopping especially for Christmas and during Black Friday. She enjoyed numerous bus trips, cruises to the Bahamas, visiting Disney multiple times, and Las Vegas especially the last few family trips. Carole enjoyed family get-togethers at the homes of her special cousins Jackie and Joe Boito and Mary Ann and Dave Orlovsky. Carole will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched. Our sincere gratitude to the staff at Arbutus Park Manor, for the exceptional care, love and compassion they showed her. Also, thank you to the staff for the beautiful prayer ceremony. There will be no public viewing, only private services. Interment will take place at Grandview Mausoleum. Arrangements by Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street.
