PAROS – Carolyn “Carrie”, 85, of Johnstown, passed away at Laurel View Village surrounded by her loving family, June 29, 2021. Born April 29, 1936, in Johnstown, daughter of Andrew and Mary (Vavrek) Voytas. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis J. “Frank” Paros; brothers: Joseph, Vincent, Andrew, Francis, and William Voytas; and sisters, Veronica Dynice, Mary Bradley, and Evelyn Kerekes. She is survived by her children: John F. and wife Debra (Hrabosky) Johnstown; Francis M. and wife Marilee (Webb) Jupiter, FL; Daniel T. and wife Pamela (Mikolic) Johnstown; Carole F. and husband Daniel Larry, Hummelstown, PA; James B. Paros, Jupiter, FL; Joseph M. Paros, Johnstown; Debra M. and husband Joseph Flori, Windber, PA; grandchildren, Elizabeth A. Paros, Jonathan M. Paros (Latitia), Bradley Paros, Frankie Paros (Nicole), Kaylee Paros, Kathryn G. (Eric) Stone, Matthew R. Paros, Joshua D. Paros, Andrew M. Paros, Daniel M. Lauria (Leanna), Michael F. Lauria (Brittany), Karalyn J. Stamathis (Andrew), Joseph D. Larry (Allison), Angela R. Larry, Anthony J. Larry, Vanessa L. (Michael) Wagner, Nico A. Flori, Gino J. Flori, and Marco D. Flori; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Justin, Briella, Evelina, Jackson, and Isabella; and brother, Robert Voytas. A longtime member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and member of the West End Catholic Mother’s Club, she had a very strong and devout Catholic faith that could move mountains. Carrie was a member and former treasurer of the 1st Catholic Slovak Band Hall Ladies Auxiliary. She was the Personnel Manager at Kmart with 25 years of service. She loved watching the Pirates and Steelers and was an excellent cook of Slovak food. She will be remembered as a kind, loving and selfless wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt who had a smile that could light up the room. Carrie was the best mother and grandmother you could ever ask for. A member of Resurrection Parish, where funeral Mass will be held, 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2021, the Rev. David Peles officiating. Friends received Monday, July 12, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street. Committal will take place at Grandview Mausoleum.
