CAMUT - Charles C. Sr.,

83; of Johnstown, passed away on January 8, 2023 at Windber Hospice surrounded by his sons and families. Born February 19, 1939 in Johnstown, son of Samuel and Mary (Pentz) Camut.  Preceded in death by parents; loving wife, Helen (Bodie) Camut; brothers, Donald and Joseph Camut; and sister, Josephine Kasuba.  Survived by sons, Charles Jr. and wife Ethel (Driscoll) of Philadelphia; Samuel and wife Tracey (Bunn) of Cary, NC; Michael and wife LeeAnn (Piermont) of Philadelphia; and Steven and wife Joyce (Berkebile) of Shippensburg; Grandchildren, Charles III (Christina), Jordan (Ryan) and Joshua; Joseph (Valerie), Brittany Caruso (Blake), and Samuel (Janie); Jonathan and Carly; Sydney, Ressa, and Shaylan; and great grandchildren, Joseph Jr. and Vincent.  Also survived by brother, Ross Camut (Marie); sister, Frances Appley; sister-in-law, Judy; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Charles was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran. He was a shoemaker for Yankee Shoe Repair for over 65 years. He was well known, in the Johnstown Community, for his skilled art in leather work and shoe repair. He continued to work, at his craft, even after retirement. He will be sadly missed by many family and friends who knew him.  A member of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, where Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. George Gulash. Committal will follow at Richland Mausoleum, where The Conemaugh Valley Detachment Marine Corp. League 287 will hold burial honors.  Friends received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street.
