Clara Vigna Obituary

VIGNA – Clara, 92, of Johnstown, died March 10, 2020, at the Palliative Care Unit of Memorial Medical Center. Born September 27, 1927, in Johnstown the daughter of Anthony and Geatana (Scalise) Magro. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis and son, Patrick; sisters, Lena Mancuso and Mary Varrato; brothers, Joseph, Nick, Alfred, and Lou Magro. Survived by her children Louis, married to Catherine (Danelli) Vigna, Johnstown and Anna Marie Palm, Ephrata; grandchildren, Julina Palm (Dean Senecal) and Joshua Vigna; great-granddaughter, Katalina; daughter-in-law, Carol Vigna. Former member of St. Columba Catholic Church and current member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. Clara and Louie enjoyed spending time together going to the dog races, trips to the shore, and spending time with their grandchildren. Clara was a great cook. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards with her friends, and spending time with her family. The family would like to thank those who personally cared for mom, Dr. Maharajh, Dr. Matse, the nurses and staff at Amber Springs and all of the nurses and staff at the Palliative Care Unit at Memorial Medical Center.  A special thank you to Fr. Mark who visited and bestowed many blessings upon mom and the family. There will be no viewing at Clara's request. Due to current health conditions, a funeral mass will be celebrated for immediate family members only at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church on March 28, 2020 at 10:00 AM, the Very Rev. Mark S. Begly, VF as celebrant. Committal will be held at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please give to the Assistance Ministry at OMOS, in memory of Clara.
