BRAZILL – David, 86, of Westmont, died August 4, 2022, at his home. Born May 11, 1936, in Johnstown the son of John “Spikes” and Anna “Mimi” (Hostinsky) Brazill. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Brazill; nephew, John Michael; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Gawel; and brothers-in-law, Robert and Jerry Gawel. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley (Gawel) Brazill; daughter, Roxanne; son, David, married to Amy (Battaline); grandchildren, Emily, Anna, and Anthony Brazill; grand-doggies, Ruby and Lucy; brother, James married to Joan (Stringent) Brazill; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Dave was a 1954 graduate of Johnstown High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh. He was a US Army Veteran serving in the Post Korean War era with the 36th Artillery Regiment in Germany. He retired from PennDot with 30 years of service where he was a Construction Inspector and later worked with various construction companies as an independent consultant. Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street where vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Fr. James Crookston officiating. Committal will be held at Grandview Cemetery with Military Honors by VFW Menoher Post 155 Ritual Team. A special thank you to Aseracare.
