NELSON - David L., 75, Johnstown, died May 15, 2023. Born March 23, 1948, in Johnstown.  Son of Robert and Harriet (Burkhard) Nelson. Preceded in death by parents, brothers: James and Robert, and sisters: Agnes, Mildred, Evelyn, Dolores and Frances. Survived by daughter, Michelle Mical married to Robert, and son David Nelson Jr. and longtime girlfriend Julie Kopach; grandchildren: Samantha Nelson, Allison Hughes (Scott), Robert Nelson, Zachary Nelson, Benjamin Mical, Troy Wills and Alyssa McAdams; great-grandchildren Liam, Sophia, Lilly, and Aurora; brothers Donald, Frank, and William; sisters Dorothy Ann, Charlotte, and Betty; and his partner Betty. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War. Past Commander of the American Legion Post #594 in Middletown, Pennsylvania. Proud member of the Middletown VFW and various social clubs throughout Johnstown. Former member of St. Columba Catholic Church. Committal will be on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA.
