LEECH - Dennis J., 64; Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2025, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born July 14, 1960 in Johnstown, son of Edward J. and Catherine R. (Fatula) Leech. Preceded in death by infant sister, Catherine; brother, Edward Jr.; nephew, Corey Leech; and parents as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He leaves behind his beautiful wife, Jennifer (Melikant) Leech, whom he married on September 23, 1995, and would be celebrating 30 years of marriage this year. As well 2 loving daughters, Courtney Kohler (Andrew) and Molly Thomas (Austin), both of Johnstown. Also survived by brothers, Bernard and wife Cynthia (Majoris), Gary and wife Kelly (O’Donnell), all of Johnstown; in-laws, Michael Melikant, married to Janet Ritchey; Daniel Melikant; Rosemary, married to Vincent Szczur; Karen, married to Bill Weinzierl; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dennis’ pride in life was his family. He was a member of Luray’s Tavern Pool League for many years as well as bowling in various leagues. He enjoyed deer hunting with his wife and daughters each fall and winter. His most favorite joy in life was fishing at his cottage on the Juniata River with his family. As long as he was at the cottage, he was smiling ear to ear. He was a clever, self-employed contractor, and owner with his brother since 1989, for Leech and Son’s Remodelers. A member of St. Therese Catholic Church, where Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Bernard Karmonocky, OFM. Committal will take place at Grandview Mausoleum. Friends received Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the National MS Society in his memory.
