KOHAN – Donald E. “Dink”, 89, of Johnstown, passed away May 17, 2022, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born April 15, 1933, in Johnstown the son of John M. and Marianni (Podolka) Kohan. Preceded in death by his parents; son Donald J. Kohan; brothers, John, Michael, and Joseph Kohan; and sisters, Irene and Helen Kohan, and Kathryn Smith; granddaughter, Lauren Ann Rice; brother-in-law, Francis Smith. Don was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Eleanor (Muñoz) Kohan; daughters: Rosemary, married to Doug Rice; Jo Ann, married to Ron Stibich; Mary Ann, married to Lou Ceglar; and Karen J., married to Mike Watkins; and granddaughters, Alexandra and Carly Rice. Donald was a 1951 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School and US Airforce veteran of the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. He was employed by the United States Postal Service for 25 years as a letter carrier. He was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. He enjoyed Steelers football, polka music, working in his yard, doing handyman work on his home and most of all his family. Don will be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father and pap. He lived his life with honor, courage and faith. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday with Parastas at 7:30 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street. Divine Liturgy will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Fr. James Davidson officiating. Committal will be held at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be directed to St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 606 Maple Avenue, Johnstown, PA 15901, in memory of Don.
