Dorothy L. (Colner) Shawley

SHAWLEY – Dorothy L., 83, of Johnstown, passed away October 13, 2021, at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born August 31, 1938, in Johnstown, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Turkovich) Colner. Preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joseph Colner. Survived by her loving husband, Ronald Shawley; children: Ronald J. married to Jane (Gustkey), Johnstown; Bernadette married to Charles DiMauro, TN; Kimberly married to Jeffrey Ryder, Slickville; Joseph M. married to Diana (Yewcic), Johnstown; and Richard P. married to Michelle (Krupa) Windber; grandchildren: Johnathan, David, Daniel (Jenna); Jason (Robyn); Rebecca (Jeremy); Brittany (Shawn); great-grandchildren: Jackson; Roman; Jolee; Landon; Xavier; and Gabriella; and sisters: Anna Mae Slavik; Barbara married to Jim Paul, OH; and Donna married to Ken Frebien.  Dorothy was a 1955 graduate of Johnstown High School and worked at Lee Hospital in the dietary department and was the district Manager of Stanley Home Sales for many years. She was a member of the Conemaugh Brethren Church, a 55 year summer resident of Woodland Park. She loved gardening flowers, especially dahlias, bird watching, Praise and Worship music and actively volunteered in her church. Dorothy never complained, loved spending time with her grandchildren, reflecting on God’s creations, making nutrolls, and was always there for whoever needed help. On her 80th birthday she hiked to the top of a mountain. Her greatest joy was sharing Jesus with others. She was a child of the Most High God. Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street.  Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Conemaugh Grace Brethren Church, Pastor Gary Mosorjak officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to New Day, Inc., 109 South Street, Johnstown, PA 15901, in memory of Dorothy Shawley.
