Dorothy J. (Oleksak) Youchak

YOUCHAK –Dorothy J., 96, of Johnstown passed away October 10, 2020 at the Allegheny Lutheran Home. Born May 17, 1924 in Johnstown to John J. and Anna (Brindza) Oleksak. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Youchak whom she married on July 17, 1948; infant son, David; sisters, Elizabeth Oleksak and Helen Brunskole (Bernard); brothers, Francis Oleksak; William Oleksak (Berniece) and Edward Oleksak (Jane). She is survived by sister-in-law, Jane Oleksak; special cousin, Betty Rozich and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy loved animals and was especially fond of the Cairn Terriers she owned throughout her life. Dorothy worked at the West End Dairy Dell and was a seamstress at Bestform in Cambria City. She was extremely devoted to her Catholic Faith and her church, St. Francis of Assisi, Johnstown where she volunteered for the Holiday nut roll and gob sales and where she was a member of the Rosary Society and church choir. The family would like to thank the kind and caring employees at the Allegheny Lutheran Home for the wonderful care that she received in the past two and a half years. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cambria County Humane Society in Dorothy’s memory. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Franciscan Friars O.F.M, Conv.  Committal will be held at St. Francis Cemetery.
