Douglas Golias Obituary

GOLIAS - Joseph Douglas “Doug”, went to be with the Lord in paradise on November 24, 2020 at the age of 57, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. He was born September 3, 1963 in Johnstown. Douglas is preceded in death by his loving mother, Dolores (Dee) Golias. He is survived by his loving father, James (Jim) Golias (Johnstown), his wife of 27 years, Tina Golias (Tomak) (Davidsville), older brother, David Golias (Anne Mclaughlin) (Atlanta), older brother, Dennis Golias (South Dakota), his father and mother-in law, William and Nancy Tomak (Johnstown), numerous in-laws, cousins, aunts and uncles, some very close friends, and three loving daughters, Heather Snyder (Golias) (married to Dustin), Shannon Golias (Cody Laporte), and Jocelyn Golias (Raul Rivera-Gonzlez). Doug graduated Bishop McCort High School and went on to pursue a Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh, and resided in Davidsville with his wife and daughters. He loved being at the Dome, and had so many friends there. He was a member of the Church of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary where he served as an usher. He was a pharmacist at Giant Eagle on Broad Street, where he was Pharmacist of the Year in 2014. The center of Doug’s life revolved around his family, especially his three daughters who he loved with every beat in his heart. He was beloved by his family and was the glue that held all of them together. He enjoyed Sunday morning breakfast with his dad, having spontaneous dates with his beautiful wife Tina, working on endless projects with Cody, eating wings and drinking margaritas with his son in law Dustin, and having late night chats with his three girls. Although he had his three girls, he was an adopted dad to so many. He was the most selfless man you could ever meet and a friend to everyone he met. He was the best husband, brother, friend, coworker, and dad in the world, and is so loved and will be forever missed.
