Edward Paul Costlow

COSTLOW- Edward Paul; 96 of Johnstown, born October 14, 1926 and died on March 21, 2023 peacefully surrounded by his family at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital. Edward was the son of Edward and Mary (Honan) Costlow. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Fabry and infant daughter Sharon Marie; brother, Robert Costlow and his wife Bertha (Widmar) Costlow. He is also preceded in death by Margarets parents Stephen and Mary (Rabatin) Fabry. Survived by sons, Dr. Edward Costlow of Baltimore, MD; Dr. James Costlow of  Pittsburgh married to the former Karen Strank; and David Costlow to whom he resided with and was his care giver; grandson, Stephen Costlow married to Laura (Still) Costlow of Atlanta Georgia; granddaughters, Monica Costlow of Pittsburgh, Alexandra Costlow married to Darin Stojanovich of Philadelphia and Melanie Costlow married to Joshua Black of Stewartstown Pennsylvania; great grandson, Peter and great granddaughters, Louisa, Anna, and Leah. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Edward was retired as an inspector at the Metallurgical department at Franklin Borough of the Bethlehem Steel Company. During World War II he served in the military at Leyte & Luzon in the Philippine Islands and at the general head quarters supreme commander for the allied powers in Tokyo, Japan. Edward was a former member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 954 and a former member of St. Columba Catholic Church. He was also an avid Bishop McCort, Notre Dame and Steelers fan. The family would like to thank the staff at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital and the Doctors at Premier Medical Center in Pittsburgh, especially his cardiologist Dr. Aashish  Dua of Pittsburgh. Also Dr. Leonardo Amper his primary care physician, nurse Angel and staff and Dr. Sons for the care he received throughout the years. In lieu of flowers donations can be made, in memory of Edward, to St. Benedict Church or to your favorite charity. Friends will be received Thursday March 23, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc at 710 Broad Street.  Funeral Service will be held at the Ozog Funeral Home on Friday March 24, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Rev. David S. Peles. Interment to follow at Grandview Cemetery.
