STOFKO- Edward A. “Ace”, 42, of Johnstown, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 13, 2023, the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima.
Born on November 3, 1980, to Edward B. and Joan (Helsel) Stofko, Preceded in death by his father; parental grandparents, Edward (Doc) and Mildred (Sikirica) Stofko; maternal grandparents, Harry and Mary Jo (Clark) Helsel; paternal aunt, Helyne (Stofko) Faizi; and maternal aunt, Trudy (Helsel) Johnson.
Survived by loving wife of 18 years, Danielle (Montgomery); sons, Edward A. Jr., Alex Richard, and Roman Nikolas. Also survived by mother; devoted and loving aunt Nikki Stofko, an angel among us; sister-in-law, Michelle (Brandon) Edwards; nephews, Jordan, Jacob and his Fiancé Korrin; sister-in-law, Jessica Montgomery; nephew Dominic; and nieces, Meela and Gia; brother-in-law, Ricky (Nadia) Montgomery. Also, survived by uncle, Bill Johnson; uncle, Paul (Patty) Helsel; aunt, Betsy Helsel; godmother, aunt Gail (Deac) Derhofer and godfather, Dee Dee Osborne; and numerous Helsel, Clark and Stofko cousins.
As a child, Edward attended O.M.O.S. Catholic School and went on to graduate from Greater Johnstown High School class of 1999. Following High School Edward attended college at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was an avid sports fan and a natural athlete. He had a passion for football and could swing a golf club like no other. He loved to coach little league for GJYL. If Edward had a motto it was, “He did it his way”. He was a devoted husband, son, nephew, friend, and father who absolutely adored his children. He will be deeply missed.
Friends will be received Wednesday, October 18th, from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. Funeral Service will take place Thursday, October 19th at 11 A.M. at Visitation B.V.M., Rev. Sean Code and Clergy. A private committal will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Joan Stofko or Nikki Stofko who will include them in an account for the continued care and benefit of Roman Stofko.
