Edward Anthony Urban

URBAN – Edward A., 91, of Johnstown died November 6, 2022, at Memorial Medical Center.  Born May 9, 1931, in Johnstown the son of Frank and Mary (Slezak) Urban. Preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Elizabeth Swanhart; and brothers, Frank and Donald Urban.  He is survived by his wife, Coletta (Rozich) Urban; sons, Edward, Jr., married to Kathy (Martinovich) Urban; Jeffrey, married to Natalie (Vitalie) Urban; and Lawrence, married to Patricia (Calik) Urban; grandchildren: Anthony (Jessica), Chantel, Austin, and Jacob; great-granddaughters: Brooklynn, Raelynn, and another one on the way; sisters: Dorothy (Sam) Vitanza and Carol Paluchak; and brother, James Urban.  Edward was a US Army and US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and was retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corp.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.  Ed was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather who was always the life of the party and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church where a funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Fr. David S. Peles officiating. Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street where vigil service will be held. Committal will take place at Grandview Cemetery with military honors by VFW Menoher Post #155 Ritual Team.
