THOMAS – Eleanor, 94, of Johnstown, passed away March 26, 2026, at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital. Born January 1, 1932, in Johnstown, the daughter of Stephen and Mary (Kostick) Maurer. Preceded in death by parents; husband, James E. Thomas; brother, Stephen (Laverne) Maurer; sisters, Mary (George) Repak and Helen Lovrich; and brother-in-law, George Todorich. Survived by loving children James J. (Cathy) Thomas, Joyce M. Cerula, and Stephen (Cynthia) Thomas; grandchildren; Anna Gladhill, Ivan Thomas, Jeffrey Cerula, Stephanie Cerula, Sarah Crone, Catherine Hollander, and Stephen Thomas; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Todorich; brother, Thomas (Gertrude) Maurer. Eleanor was a very active member at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where she was a part of the choir and worked for 40 years. She enjoyed helping the parishioners, making gobs, pies, and Jello for the church cover dishes. Eleanor loved making Afghans and playing bingo. Eleanor also sang at her mother's funeral and was very honored to do so. Eleanor was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will truly be missed by many. Friends and Family are welcome to attend a committal service on April 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Grandview Cemetery, Rev. William E. Rosenbaum.
