Elizabeth L. Merx

MERX – Elizabeth L., 96, of Johnstown.  Born August 6, 1924, in Johnstown the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Dirsch) Merx. Preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Mary Jo Merx.  She is survived by her sister, Rose Anne, wife of Herbert Sellers.  Elizabeth was a lifelog member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and currently a member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral. She was a 1942 graduate of Catholic High. She worked in the coal industry and was retired from Associated drilling as a secretary, and a longtime fan and season ticket holder of Johnstown hockey from the Jets to the Tomahawks.  Private funeral service will be held at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc. 710 Broad Street, the Very Rev. James F. Crookston officiating.  Committal at St. Joseph Cemetery.
