MICHEL – Elizabeth Bernadine “Bernie” Radasky Michel, Age 87, Asheville, NC. Born March 14, 1937, in Johnstown, PA. Daughter of Stephen and Anna Falat (Radasky). A 1955 graduate of Johnstown High School. Received a Certificate in Banking from the University of Wisconsin. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Dorothy Ruth Radasky (Yost), Mary Radasky (Kesselak), and Anna Radasky (Rusinak); brother, Stephen Radasky, Jr.; and nephews, Mark Andrew Kesselak and Anthony Rusinak. Survived by nieces, Andrea Marie Kesselak Robel (Jeffrey) Asheville, NC, Bernadette Rusinak Koziol (Michael deceased) Hanover, IL; nephew, Michael Richard Yost, Ranson, WV; great-niece, Michelle K. Yost, Frostburg, MD; and great-nephews, David Michael Robel and Gregory Michael Robel, Asheville, NC, and Jonathan Koziol, Hanover, IL. Also formerly married to John P. Michel.
She had resided in Detroit, MI; St. Louis, MO; Laurel, MD; and Surprise, AZ. She attended Ss. Peter & Paul Church in St. Louis and served as Treasurer. In Maryland, she was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Potomac, MD and served on the Church Board and member of the ACRY and church choir. She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Phoenix, AZ, served on the Church Board, officer and member of the Myrrh Bearers Altar Society and member of the church choir. She currently was attending Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Waynesville, NC. She has resided in Asheville, NC for the past year living with her niece Andrea and family. For 8 years in Detroit, she was an active member of the Business & Professional Women’s Club and the recipient of the Woman of The Year Award in 1978. She worked in various positions of increasing responsibility in the banking industry for 40 years and retired in 2000. Elizabeth “Bernie” developed many friendships and support in the communities where she lived and worked and in the churches she attended. Friends received Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., in Johnstown, PA; where panachida will be held at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Christ the Saviour Cathedral, the Rev Robert Buczak, where service will be telecast at https://www.youtube.com/@ACRODDIOCESE/streams Committal will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
