MOLENDA – Elizabeth (Betty) L. of Pittsburgh, formerly Johnstown, died peacefully on December 28, 2022. Born June 8, 1930, in Johnstown to Czechoslovakian immigrants Vasil and Anna (Sroka) Mosorjak. Preceded in death by her loving husband Peter, her parents, and siblings Helen Youchak, Michael Mosorjak, Margaret Rusnak, Olga Nardecchia and Stephen Mosorjak. She will be sadly missed by her loving children Peter (Cindy), Patricia Lampe (Steve), and Thomas (Amy). She was grandmother to four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Betty graduated from Johnstown High School in 1948. Betty initially worked as a flight attendant based in New York City. She returned to Johnstown to marry Peter, raise her family, and later, had a career as a Supervisor of the Pa Department of Public Assistance. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. In 1995, Betty moved to Pittsburgh to be closer to her children where she became an active member of the community including at St. Andrew the Apostle Byzantine Catholic Church (Gibsonia, PA). Friends and family will be received from 10 am to 12 noon on Friday, December 30 at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, 710 Broad Street, Johnstown. Funeral Mass will follow at 12:30pm at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 411 Power Street, Johnstown. Committal will take place at Grandview Cemetery.
