Ethel R. (Sloan) Petak

PETAK – Ethel R., 81, of Johnstown, died February 20, 2020, at Windber Hospice. Born August 3, 1938, the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Riffle) Sloan. Preceded in death by her parents, and infant brother, Leo. Survived by her husband, Robert J. Petak; children: Philip, married to Monica (Bizjak); Joyce, wife of Ed Smith; Mark, married to Miriam (Schiffhauer); Ruben, married to Leslie (Schiffhauer); John, married to Anna (Camut); Gail, married to Jerry Fecko; and Michele Bloom all of Johnstown; grandchildren: Philip, Samantha, Rebecca, Jessica, Joshua, Julia, Scott, Justin, Allie, John D., Bobby, Richard, Jimmy and Brandon; 12 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister, LeAnn Golby; and sister-in-law, Barbara Maddox.. Member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir, Rosary Society and Oremus. She worked as a LPN at the former Mercy Hospital. Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., Johnstown. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Franciscan Friars OFM Conv. Committal at St. Francis Church Cemetery.
