Eugene Babik

81, of Romney, WV, formerly of Johnstown, died January 24, 2024. Born June 1, 1942, in Johnstown, the son of Michael R. and Helen V. (Laco) Babik. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Timothy; and special friend, Jean Grubb. He is survived by his children: Wendy Murphy, married to Stephen Blough; Stephen and special friend, Ursula; and Michael, married to Marti Babik; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Gregory Babik married to Susan; sister, Michelle Beblar married to Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Eugene was a 1960 graduate of Johnstown Catholic High School and former member of St. Stephen Catholic Church before moving from Johnstown in 1961. He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam era. At Eugene’s request there will be no visitation.  However, family and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 31. 2024, at Resurrection Parish.
