Eugene W. Dryzal

DRYZAL – Eugene W. “Spuds” “Gene”, 78, of Johnstown, died February 11, 2025, at UPMC Altoona. Born July 23, 1946, in Johnstown. The son of John D. and Tillie (Pietrowski) Dryzal. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Joseph, Frank, and Donald; and sister, Kathryn Rodgers. Eugene was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years Barbara (Grata); children, John (Lisa), Brian (Coni), Diana (Paul Jr.) Veney, Timothy (Kelly), Michael (Jessica), Allen (companion Lori), and Christopher (Ashley); grandchildren, Hunter, Madison, Krista, Brady, Bailey, Morgan, Gavin, Xander, Reagan, Brantley, Stetson, and Shanna; great-grandchildren, Rohan, Iylah, and Shiloh; sister-in-law, Jean, and numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Gene worked for Bethlehem Steel Company for 32 years. He enjoyed farming, collecting model trains, and repairing anything that was broken. He was a member of the VFW Post 155 and enjoyed spending time there with friends. Gene was a member of Resurrection Parish. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will truly be missed by many. Friends will be received Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. Funeral mass will be held Friday February 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Resurrection Parish, Very Rev. Matthew B. Baum. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eugene’s memory to Resurrection Parish.
