Evelyn C. (Devorick) Bistransky

BISTRANSKY – Evelyn C., 89, of Johnstown, died November 17, 2024, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born January 16, 1935, in Johnstown, the daughter of Paul Sr. and Helen (Tkacik) Devorick. Preceded in death by parents; loving husband, Joseph Bistransky; infant daughter Helen Louise; brothers, Michael, Paul Jr., and Charles; sister, Rose Marie Kostora; and special friend, Ray Wagner. Survived by children, Christopher, Linda, Joseph, and Paula fiancé Bill Schrock; grandchildren, Joseph Hans Samo fiancée Brittany Rugg and Matthew Rolish; great-grandson, Joseph Samuel Samo; sister, Freida Louk; and special friend since childhood Dolores Kralik. Evelyn was a true angel on earth, now an angel in heaven. Her love lives on in all our hearts. She was an amazing woman with a heart of gold. She loved every one of her children and would be there in a heartbeat if anyone needed her. She showed us all how to love and support one another, and we will always remember and continue to pass it on. She truly will always be our angel. Evelyn welcomed everyone into her home with open arms and always invited them back. She dedicated her life to her family, loving to cook and spending time with them. One of her greatest joys was her time spent with her grandsons and great-grandson during their infancy, holding them in her arms and watching them grow. She loved attending mass at Resurrection Parish/ St. Stephens where she was a lifelong member. Evelyn also loved attending festivals, polka dancing, and donating to charities including the less fortunate, handicapped, veterans, and the Humane Society. Evelyn also loved feeding the wildlife. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She truly will be missed by many. Friends will be received Thursday November 21, 2024, at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Resurrection Parish, Friday, November 22, 2024, at 10 a.m. Committal will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery.
